Jason Mayers

From 6 years old, Jason has been a keen musician. Playing a range of instruments throughout his younger years, he always gravitated back to the drum kit, as he found being the pulse of the music an inescapable addiction.
With an older brother 5 years his senior, he was continually exposed to an eclectic mix of musical genres, through is brother’s extensive record collection, and this shaped his musical education and appreciation for the years to come.
Jason discovered Pink Floyd at around 9 years of age and can still remember purchasing Roger Waters “The Wall, Live in Berlin” at the age of 10. “The opportunity to now be a part one of the largest Pink Floyd productions was something I simply had to be a part of”, he said, after the offer to join Beyond the Darkside.
He has played many live shows in both cover and original bands, supporting some of Australia’s leading acts over the last 30 years and looks forward to getting back out on the road and playing the music of a band he so admires.
