Kevin Hunt

Kevin first hooked into Pink Floyd at the age of 13, beginning with the album Wish You Were Here, and then quickly began to accumulate the entire collection. He had begun playing bass guitar at the age of 11, and after seeing The Wall concert live at Earls Court, and decided he wanted to play in a production on that scale.

Kevin played in a number of original bands around the UK through his teenage years, and once even found himself playing onstage with Robert Plant. After immigrating to Australia in 1987, Kevin toured extensively throughout eastern Australia and the Northern Territory in cover bands, but decided that wasn't where his real passion, or future, lay.

Inspired by his passion for Floyd he set about a long process of creating what was his first show Floyd – The Concept in 1991, which at the time, was one of the larger and more dynamic tribute shows around Australia.

After teaming up with business partner and lighting specialist Athol Sargood in 1995, Floyd – The Concept ultimately became Beyond the Darkside – a massive production based on The Delicate Sound of Thunder Tour of 1987, which toured extensively through all the major theatres around Australia.

Beyond the Darkside continues to evolve with each passing year, incorporating new and more spectacular effects whenever possible. Now 28 years on, Kevin is about produce the biggest production ever that BTDS have ever staged.

After a brief period of time away from doing shows due to a serious accident that took away his ability to walk for some time, he looks forward again to bring a new show to the Floyd community in the near distant future.
