Amber Green.

Amber demonstrated a natural musical aptitude early on when, to her mother’s astonishment she started incorporating operatic trills into her nursery rhymes. Dancing and drama soon followed, creating in Amber ‘a triple threat’ as they say. At 14 she joined her first band and soon after found that her love of poetry allowed a natural progression into songwriting. Her love for music would eventually lead her to apply for and be accepted into the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Joining ‘Beyond the Darkside’ for the first time in late 2004, Amber has had the pleasure of performing with them at numerous venues over the years. A versatile vocalist with a great range, Amber has had extensive experience within the Australian music industry, performing as a lead singer at events, festivals, and in a variety of cover and original bands/acts as well as collaborating (writing, composing, recording) on many musical projects. Her fervent vocal arsenal showcases a deep rich timbre, dazzling ornamentation and soaring vocals, embodied in a sunny disposition that’s as warm and hearty as soul food. Her music and voice absorb the nuance of an eclectic palette of musical genres including jazz, gospel, folk, funk, swing, soul, blues, electronica, trip hop, rock and a cappella.

Amber’s gifts and work ethic have enabled her to perform with and support some big names in the music industry at a variety of prestigious venues. A few of her career highlights include her bands EP launch at the Zoo (Brisbane), supporting the resin dogs and DJ Dexter (The Avalanches) and performing at The Sydney Opera House with multimillion production Beyond The Darkside.

Her husband’s shock brain cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment has since added a poignancy and subtext to Amber’s emotive songs. She attributes her faith and songwriting as being instrumental to her healing and personal growth, for as Viktor Hugo said, "music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent".
