Contributing fretted, fretless, and acoustic bass guitars, vocals and harmonies to Beyond the Darkside, Mark has worked as a musician since his teens, recording, touring, and gigging; he has shared the stage with some of Australia and America’s premier acts, too many to name over this 38 year reign and at least 10,000 shows to date.

Growing up in rural Bendigo, Mark started playing music when he was 14 with the family influence being heavily on Elvis, country and 50’s music. His love of Floyd began at 17 however, when he got into the Pink Floyd album The Wall, and he’s been hooked ever since, playing in another large Floyd show for 7 years.

Mark cut his teeth in the professional music scene in Sydney, playing with an original country-rock band with some of the country’s best. ‘I’ve had a very lucky musical life and am very humbled to have been so fortunate to have had the right connections at the right time. I’ve never professed to think I’m a great bassist, you only need to be introduced to a handful of top class artists or musicians just once or twice in your musical life to be able to be exposed to a bigger echelon of promoters, and the next thing you know you’re swimming in that circle’.

Working extensively touring throughout urban and rural Australia during his career, Mark is thrilled to now have the opportunity to be an integral member of Beyond the Darkside.
